Air Force Jawan’s Parents Allegedly Beaten Over Drain Cleaning In Jhajjar; CCTV Shows Attack

Jhajjar: The parents of an Air Force personnel were allegedly beaten with sticks, clubs and bricks while cleaning a drain outside their home in Jhajjar’s Kilaudh village. A CCTV video of the incident has surfaced, showing several people allegedly assaulting the family members and pushing two women into a drain.

The injured victims were admitted to the Civil Hospital in Jhajjar, where doctors referred the Air Force personnel’s mother, Shashi Devi, to PGI Rohtak for further treatment. According to her daughter Neetu Chauhan, her mother suffered serious injuries, including severe damage to one eye and a broken tooth.

Police said an investigation is underway based on the CCTV footage, while statements from both parties are being recorded.

Dispute Began While Cleaning Drain

According to Neetu Chauhan, her father, Veer Singh, was cleaning the drain outside their house on Saturday morning when neighbours allegedly began making comments about the work.

She alleged that shortly afterwards, the neighbours’ sons and women from their household attacked her father. When Shashi Devi came out to protect her husband, she was also allegedly assaulted.

Neetu said bricks were thrown at her mother’s head and that around 10 people were involved in the assault.

Shashi Devi said a group of people had surrounded her husband that morning. She alleged that when she stepped outside, the accused attacked her with sticks and bricks. She further alleged that members of the family of a man identified as Ramkishan were among those involved.

CCTV Shows Family Members Being Attacked

CCTV footage related to the incident has surfaced. In one clip, some youths are seen allegedly striking Veer Singh with sticks. His wife is seen trying to shield him, while their younger daughter is nearby.

During the confrontation, Veer Singh manages to snatch a stick from one of the youths and is seen striking back.

Another CCTV clip shows a youth allegedly running towards Veer Singh with a brick. Shashi Devi falls to the ground during the confrontation.

The footage further shows one of the youths allegedly pushing Shashi Devi and her daughter into a drain while the assault on Veer Singh continues. The daughter can be seen trying to snatch the stick from the youth’s hand.

Mother Referred To PGI, Police Probe Underway

The injured couple was admitted to the hospital following the assault. Shashi Devi was later referred to PGI Rohtak for further treatment.

Neetu Chauhan said her mother’s tooth was broken during the attack and that one of her eyes was severely damaged.

Dharmendra, SHO of Jhajjar Sadar Police Station, said police received information about the altercation and are investigating the matter on the basis of CCTV footage.

Police are recording statements from both sides as part of the investigation. The Air Force personnel’s headquarters has also been informed about the matter.
