Why did Hemant Soren Government Cancel JSSC-CGL 2024?
The Jharkhand government had cancelled the JSSC-CGL 2024 exam on August 18, 2024 due to allegations of widespread malpractice.
This decision was taken amidst protests by job aspirants due to alleged malpractice during recruitment exams. The Hemant Soren-led government stated that there are proofs of widespread malpractice and leak of questions, hence, the exam was cancelled.
However, candidates who cleared the exam took the matter to the High Court. They argued that the decision of canceling the recruitment process was unfair and the candidates who cleared the exam were not given an opportunity to put forth their case.
The petitions were heard by Justice Deepak Roshan who quashed the notification of cancellation and said that the decision was unfair and unjust.
