In a tragic road accident on National Highway (NH) 152-D near Lajwana Kalan village on Saturday morning, a speeding truck rammed into the rear of a car carrying devotees who were on their way to visit the Khatu Shyam temple. Three devotees, including one woman, died on the spot, while two other women sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving the information, the Julana police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
According to reports, three women and two men from Karnal were traveling in a car to visit the Khatu Shyam temple in Rajasthan. As their vehicle reached the vicinity of Lajwana Kalan village on NH-152D, a dog suddenly appeared in front of the car. In an attempt to avoid hitting the animal, the front of the car sustained damage.
Following this, the devotees stepped out of the vehicle to inspect the damage. At that moment, a speeding truck approaching from behind rammed violently into the car. The impact was so severe that it caused chaos at the scene. Dharmpal (45), Rajkumar (50), and Sweety (40)—all residents of Karnal—died instantly in the accident.
Meanwhile, Neetu (40) and Ritu (42), who were injured in the crash, were immediately rushed to the Community Health Center in Julana. After administering first aid, doctors referred them elsewhere due to their critical condition. Police from the Julana station arrived at the site upon receiving news of the accident and inspected the area. The police took possession of the bodies for post-mortem examination and informed the families of the deceased. A search for the truck driver is underway, and the cause of the accident is being investigated.
