Bulandshahr: In a major breakthrough in the triple murder case that took place on April 25 at a gym located on Subhash Marg in Khurja, police have achieved significant success. The main accused, Jitu Saini—carrying a reward of ₹50,000—was killed in an encounter with the police, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
During the exchange of fire, SWAT team in-charge Mohammad Aslam and a head constable also sustained bullet injuries to their hands. The brutal triple murder had created widespread panic across the region.
Triple Murder Case Background
Earlier, three accused had already been injured in separate police encounters, while two others were arrested and sent to jail. The incident dates back to the night of April 25, when Amardeep Saini, his cousin Manish Saini, and his nephew Akash were shot dead inside a gym on Subhash Marg in Khurja.
Based on a complaint filed by Amardeep’s father, Sarup, police registered a case against ten individuals, including the prime accused Jitu Saini. During the investigation, the name of another accused, Sonu Saini, also surfaced. So far, Rupesh, Naresh, Mayank, Rinku, and Bharat have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Notably, Mayank, Rinku, and Bharat had also been injured in earlier encounters with the police.
Police Operation and Gunfight Details
Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh stated that on Thursday morning, a joint team of the SWAT unit and local police was conducting patrol duty near the Sikanderpur flyover on Jhajhar Road. During the operation, two individuals were spotted riding a scooter. On noticing the police checking, they attempted to evade and moved towards a dirt track.
When the police tried to intercept them, the suspects opened fire on the team. In retaliatory action, one of the assailants was shot and critically injured, while the other fled the scene. The injured accused was later identified as Jitu Saini, a resident of Mohalla Punjabiyan, who was wanted in the triple murder case and carried a reward of ₹50,000.
Injuries to Police, Probe Ongoing
He was initially taken to Jatiya Hospital and later referred to the Bulandshahr District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
During the encounter, SWAT team in-charge Mohammad Aslam and Head Constable Mohit Malik also sustained bullet injuries and were referred for treatment. Police have recovered a pistol from the spot, and the forensic team is currently examining the evidence.
