J&K: First group of 642 Hajj pilgrims will depart for Saudi Arabia today

Srinagar : The initial group of Hajj pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir will embark on their journey to Saudi Arabia through two flights departing from Srinagar International Airport on Thursday.

This year, a total of 7008 pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir are scheduled to undertake the sacred Muslim pilgrimage of Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

The first group comprising 642 pilgrims will depart from Srinagar in two separate flights, each accommodating 321 pilgrims.

Pilgrims began arriving at the Hajj House located in the outskirts of Srinagar city early in the morning.

The initial batch of pilgrims arrived at the Hajj House before 8:30 am, adhering to the official reporting time. The second batch was scheduled to report by 11 am.

Government arranged special provisions for transportation

The government has arranged special provisions for the transportation of pilgrims from the Hajj House to the airport, including foreign exchange services, luggage clearance, and special assistance for elderly and disabled pilgrims at the airport.

Family members accompanied the pilgrims to the Hajj House, where they bid them an emotional farewell.

Only pilgrims are permitted to board the designated green buses provided to transport them from the Hajj House to the airport.
