J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha Provides Government Jobs to 41 Terror-Affected Families

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday handed over appointment letters for government jobs to 41 terror-affected families (Next of Reasons – NOC) of Jammu division.

Age relaxation cases and dependents of police martyrs also received benefits

In addition, appointment letters were provided to 22 beneficiaries under the Compassionate Appointment Rules (SRO-43) and Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS) and appointment letters were provided to 19 dependents of Jammu and Kashmir police martyrs.

The Lieutenant Governor said that this has so far provided justice and relief to 135 terror-affected families of Jammu division, who were deprived of justice for decades.

Lt Governor pays tribute to terror-affected families

In his address, the Lt Governor paid tribute to the martyred citizens and expressed deep condolences to the families of the terror-affected families. He said:
“The families affected by terror had to struggle silently for decades. They were deprived of justice. Now, such families are getting recognition, respect and rehabilitation. Providing jobs to the real victims of terrorism and real martyrs shows that the nation stands with them through concrete action.”

The Lt Governor reiterated his commitment to ensure safety and dignity for these families.

Manoj Sinha said:
“Our mission is to transform the lives of families who have been deliberately deprived of justice so that they can contribute to the all-round development of society and nation building. We have fulfilled our commitment by providing appointment letters to 41 terror-affected families, 22 age-relief cases and 19 dependents of police martyrs.”

Stories of helpless families

The Lieutenant Governor narrated the painful stories of some of the victim families:

Naseeb Singh: On June 28, 2005, his father, Dharam Singh and four others were killed by terrorists. For two decades, the family lived in fear and insecurity.

Akhtar Hussain (Reasi): He was shot dead by terrorists on July 13, 2005. His wife and children faced hardships.

SPO Sanjit Kumar: He was killed by terrorists in Kishtwar on November 15, 2004.

The Lieutenant Governor said that this new beginning is now an opportunity for these families to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Emphasis on action against terrorism in the country

The Lieutenant Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the entire system of terrorism is being dismantled.

“We have not bought peace, but have established peace. Now, terrorists, separatists and their patrons are not in government jobs, but will face the strictest punishment for their actions.”

He warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who launch negative campaigns against the country or spread separatism.

Appeal for contribution from all sections

The Lieutenant Governor called upon all sections of society to contribute selflessly for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. DGP Nalin Prabhat, Principal Secretary Home Chandrakar Bharti, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti and Deputy Directors of various districts, officers and members of terror affected families were present on the occasion.
