Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Sports Minister Satish Sharma opposed the India-Pakistan cricket match scheduled for February 15. He said India should not play against a country that is “openly attacking us and martyring our soldiers.”

Satish Sharma attacks Pakistan, calls for respect

Satish Sharma said, “We should not play with them. Respect good people. These people are openly attacking us and martyring our soldiers. Many of our people from Kashmir and Jammu have been martyred.” He also said that India is a loving country, but Pakistan’s recent actions are unacceptable.

BJP leaders say: Pakistan’s threats failed

BJP leader Balwant Singh Mankotia said that Pakistan’s withdrawal of its boycott threat shows that they have conceded defeat. He said that Pakistan should adhere to global standards and not isolate itself from hostile activities against India.

NC and PDP MLAs positive about the game

NC MLA Javed Baig said that the match promotes peace, brotherhood, and friendship. PDP MLA Agha Syed Muntazir Mahdi called it a welcome step and said that India and Pakistan should remain engaged for regional peace and prosperity, and sports should not be viewed from a political perspective.
