J&K Security Review Meeting Today, Union Home Secretary to Chair

Jammu: Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan will chair a top-level security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir on Monday through video conferencing from New Delhi. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm.

Key Officials to Attend

Officials said the meeting will be attended by J&K Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, DGP Nalin Prabhat, senior police officers, and Inspector Generals of Kashmir and Jammu divisions. The review will focus on the security and financial position of the J&K Police for the current fiscal and 2026-27.

Focus on Anti-Terror Operations

This will be the first major review after the killing of four top terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed, including commander Saifullah, in Kishtwar last month.

Sources said strategies to intensify anti-terror operations in mountains and forests, especially in the Jammu region, will be discussed, with special focus on foreign terrorists believed to be hiding in these areas.

Financial Review & Security Strategy

The meeting will also review police budget expenditure for 2025-26 and requirements for the next financial year. The Union Home Ministry has directed agencies to intensify operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and funding networks, including drug smuggling and hawala rackets.

Security forces, including Army, paramilitary forces, J&K Police, and Special Operations Group (SOG), have been deployed in sensitive areas to dismantle the terror ecosystem in the region.
