Rajouri (J&K): Under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) Schemes of Fisheries Department, Rajouri District educated unemployed youths of far-flung areas living in Dharhal, Thanna, Mandi, Kotranaka and Budhal living in cold water bodies areas in Pirpanjal Range about fish culturing and they were seen engaged in the business on February 23.
Many unemployed youths of the Dharhal block of Rajouri District started their businesses under centrally sponsored schemes by the government of India for Trout fish farming. They have established fish farming pond units on their land and the department has provided all the facilities for establishing Trout fish culture. More than 100 Trout units have been established in Rajouri District. Talking to ANI a local said, “This system is really good. I can’t explain in words.”
Another youth thanked the Department of Fisheries, the government of India, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the scheme and said, “Under the government schemes, we have prepared the trout farm. The schemes are really good. First, they used to say that Trout can only be cultured in Kashmir but now it can also be cultured in our cold region of Pir Panjal. We hope that the government will bring more schemes like this.”
