New Delhi: CPI(M) MP John Brittas on Thursday said the Opposition will intensify its protest over alleged examination paper leaks and remain firm on its demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Speaking during the Opposition protest, Brittas said the agitation would not be restricted to Parliament and that the issue would be raised on the streets as well. He asserted that the Opposition would not withdraw its demand.

“The protest will not be limited to Parliament. We will be hitting the streets. We have decided that we will stick to our demand for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. We will not go back an inch; he has to resign,” Brittas said.

Opposition seeks political accountability over paper leak issue

RSP leader and MP NK Premachandran also criticised the government’s response to the examination paper leak controversy, saying the Opposition’s primary demand was to establish political accountability.

Reacting to the government’s move to set up fast-track courts for cases related to paper leaks, Premachandran said students and youth were seeking responsibility from those in charge of the education system.

He alleged that several cases of examination irregularities had emerged but claimed that no political accountability had been fixed so far.

Opposition questions government’s response

Premachandran questioned why the government was hesitant to take action against Dharmendra Pradhan or remove him from the Union Cabinet.

He said thousands of students had been affected by examination-related issues and alleged that focusing only on legal action would not address concerns over accountability.

The Opposition has been demanding the Education Minister’s resignation over the ongoing controversy related to examination paper leaks and alleged irregularities.

Political confrontation intensifies in Parliament

The statements came amid a political face-off between NDA and INDIA bloc MPs at Parliament’s Makar Dwar.

Opposition MPs staged a protest against Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue, while NDA parliamentarians held a counter-protest, accusing the Opposition of avoiding discussion and disrupting parliamentary proceedings.

Meanwhile, student activists continued protests at Tolstoy Marg and Janpath in Delhi, demanding reforms in the examination system and accountability over alleged paper leaks.

The issue is expected to remain a major point of confrontation during the ongoing Parliament session, with further protests and heated exchanges likely in the coming days.
