JPSC Row: Three Members Resign After CID Summons Over Exam Irregularities

Ranchi: Three serving members of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) have resigned from their posts amid an ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations.

The three members — Dr Ajita Bhattacharya, Dr Anima Hansda and Dr Jamal Ahmad — had recently been summoned by the Jharkhand Crime Investigation Department (CID) for questioning as part of its probe into the alleged examination irregularities.

Resignations Accepted by Jharkhand Governor

The three JPSC members submitted their resignation letters to the Governor. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar accepted their resignations on Sunday following a recommendation from the state government, according to an official statement.

The development comes as the CID continues its investigation into alleged irregularities in JPSC recruitment examinations. The agency had summoned the three members for questioning, although the specific issues on which they were to be examined have not been publicly disclosed.

The resignations come amid continuing protests by students and government-job aspirants in Jharkhand over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations.
