Hisar: In the wake of India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ airstrike against Pakistan, several spies have been apprehended across Haryana and Punjab on suspicion of espionage. Within just 11 days following Operation Sindoor, a total of seven spies were arrested across the two states.

The most high-profile case among these involves Jyoti Malhotra, a suspected spy arrested in Hisar. Jyoti has been lodged in Hisar Jail for approximately one year. Her bail petitions have been rejected on two separate occasions; consequently, Jyoti now intends to approach the Supreme Court.

Jyoti’s counsel, Ravinder Singh Dhull, stated that they would soon move the Supreme Court. Dhull noted that two other individuals arrested on charges of espionage have already been granted bail. The lawyer indicated that this precedent would be cited as grounds for filing a bail petition in Jyoti’s case as well, pointing out that the police had invoked sections of the Official Secrets Act against those two individuals as well.
