Auto-Rickshaw Passenger Killed in Kaithal Road Accident After Car Hits Vehicle, Driver Flees

Kaithal: A man, aged around 50, died after the auto-rickshaw he was traveling in was struck by a car in Kyodak village, Kaithal. The accident occurred around 8:00 AM on Saturday while he was on his way from Kaithal to the Arunai Dham in Pehowa for prayers. Just past Kyodak village on National Highway 152, a car coming from the direction of Pehowa collided with his vehicle.

The man died on the spot, and the car driver fled the scene.

By-passers informed the police

The deceased has been identified as Satyavan, a resident of Kaithal. Passersby who witnessed the accident immediately alerted the police. A police team arrived at the scene and transported the body to the Civil Hospital in Kaithal; the family of the deceased was also informed.

Family members who arrived at the hospital stated that Satyavan is survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter. His daughter is married, while his sons are unmarried. He was a religious man and was on his way to the temple for prayers at the time of the accident.

Investigation underway 

Baljit Singh, In-charge of the Kyodak police post, stated that the police team received information in the morning about a car colliding with an auto-rickshaw on National Highway 152, resulting in one fatality. He added that the police have recorded the statements of the family members, and the matter is under investigation. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
