Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kajol visited the iconic Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata and offered prayers during a spiritual visit on Friday.

Dressed in a red co-ord outfit paired with black sunglasses, the actress was seen arriving at the temple amid tight security. Videos shared on social media showed Kajol entering the temple with police personnel and members of her team while carrying pooja offerings.

Actress Reaffirms Her Devotion to Maa Kali

Kajol has often expressed her devotion to Maa Kali and has visited the revered temple on several occasions. Last year, she offered prayers at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple ahead of the release of her mythological horror film ‘Maa’ and also participated in the temple’s aarti.

In 2024, the actress had visited the temple with her mother, veteran actress Tanuja, and her son Yug.

A Special Connection to Bengal

Although born and raised in Mumbai, Kajol shares a strong connection with Bengal through her late father Shomu Mukherjee, who belonged to a prominent Bengali film family. Her mother, actress Tanuja, has Marathi roots, giving Kajol a culturally diverse heritage.

Kajol Last Seen in ‘Maa’

On the work front, Kajol was last seen in ‘Maa’, directed by Vishal Furia. The mythological horror film featured Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta and Kherin Sharma in key roles and served as a spin-off to the 2024 supernatural thriller ‘Shaitaan’.

The film follows a mother and daughter confronting a supernatural curse in their ancestral village, with Kajol playing the lead role.
