Two Gurdaspur Drug Smugglers Arrested in Kangra, Chitta Recovered

Dharamshala: Kangra police have arrested two drug smugglers from Punjab with a stash of drugs. During a patrol operation conducted by Gaggal police on Thursday evening, they recovered 5.97 grams of drugs from the two smugglers. Police also seized the accused’s motorcycle.

According to the police, the arrest was made during a routine traffic check near Kuthma in Gaggal. During this, the police team stopped a motorcycle numbered PB-06-BJ6542 for inspection. Two young men were riding it. The police became suspicious and searched them. During this, they recovered drugs.

The smugglers are residents of Gurdaspur, Punjab

The arrested accused have been identified as Harpal Singh (34 years) and Jaspal Singh (34 years), both residents of village Chaura Vajwa, Dera Baba Nanak tehsil, Gurdaspur, Punjab.

Police arrested both of them and started further action: SP

Superintendent of Police Kulbhushan Verma said both accused were arrested on the spot. An FIR, number 63/26, has been registered against them at the Gaggal police station under sections 21, 25, and 29 of the NDPS Act.

The smugglers will be produced in court today

Police are now questioning the accused about where they obtained the drugs and to whom they intended to supply them. Further legal proceedings are underway in the case. Both will be produced in court today and remands will be sought.
