4 pilgrims dead, 23 injured as pickup truck falls into ditch in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh

Kangra, August 15: A pickup truck full of pilgrims fell into a ditch in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, this morning. 4 pilgrims from Punjab died in the accident, while 23 passengers were injured. They have been admitted to the hospital.

According to the information, 27 devotees from Moga, Punjab, were going to visit the Chamunda temple in Kangra. Today, at around 7.30 am, the pickup fell into a deep ditch near Jadrangal. With the help of local people, the police sent all the injured to the nearest hospital.

One female devotee died on the spot, while 3 others died during treatment at Tanda Medical College and Hospital. The deceased include two women and two men. The accident took place near the Bailey Hotel at Ikku Mor on the Chamunda-Dharamshala road.

Tanda Medical College Principal Dr. Milap Sharma said that 4 people have died. The condition of 13 devotees remains critical. 10 others have suffered minor injuries and are undergoing treatment.
