Kanpur man kills twin daughters, wife alerts police

Kanpur: A drug dealer allegedly killed his 11-year-old twin daughters by slitting their throats in Kanpur in the early hours of Sunday, police said. Seeing the body, the wife informed the police. The police have arrested the accused father. The family is being questioned to know the reason. The incident took place in Kidwai Nagar under Naubasta police station area.

DCP South Dipendra Nath Chaudhary said, “Shashi Ranjan Mishra, who lives in Trimurti Apartments, is a drug dealer. The house was lived with his wife Reshma and three children, 11-year-old twin daughters Riddha and Siddhi and 6-year-old son Gannu. At 4.30 am, his wife Reshma informed about the murder over the phone.

When the police arrived, the bodies of both the daughters were lying on the ground. Blood was spilled all over the house. The police arrested the accused from the spot. The forensic team is also reaching the spot and collecting evidence.
