Kanpur: The alleged accused in the Kanpur Lamborghini accident case, Shivam Mishra, was arrested on Thursday, four days after a luxury car rammed into multiple vehicles near Jhula Park Crossing, leaving one person injured.
While police maintain that Mishra was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash, his lawyer has claimed that he has been wrongly arrested.
Lawyer Claims “Wrongful Arrest”
Shivam Mishra’s lawyer, Narendra Kumar Yadav, told ANI that his client was not driving the Lamborghini when the accident occurred.
“He has been wrongly arrested by the police. He was not driving the car,” Yadav said.
The lawyer further claimed that the driver had submitted an affidavit accepting responsibility for the accident.
Police Say CCTV Confirms Mishra Was Driving
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central Kanpur, Atul Kumar Srivastava, confirmed the arrest and said that the investigation had established that Shivam Mishra was driving the car.
“We got information that he is in Kanpur. Five teams were formed, and we arrested him and presented him in court. During the investigation, it was found that Shivam Mishra was driving the car at the time of the accident,” Srivastava said.
Earlier, Kanpur Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal also stated that CCTV footage and other evidence indicate that Mishra was behind the wheel. His name has been included in the FIR.
What Happened on February 8?

Driver Claims He Was Driving, Blames Medical Emergency
On Wednesday, the driver identified as Mohan admitted that he was driving the car during the accident. He claimed that Shivam Mishra was sitting beside him and suffered a seizure.
“Yes, he was sitting beside me. Suddenly his arms and legs started shaking, and he fell on me,” Mohan said, adding that a bouncer pulled him out of the car after the crash.
Settlement and Compensation Claim
According to Mishra’s lawyer, the injured party has reportedly reached a settlement and received compensation.
“The injured and the plaintiff have received compensation and stated they do not want further action. After receiving compensation, who can make a better plea than him? He himself has identified the driver,” Yadav said.
