According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Atul Srivastava, the luxury sports car, driven by Shivam Mishra, son of KK Mishra a well‑known tobacco trader in the region went out of control and hit people standing alongside the road as well as several parked vehicles, triggering panic among commuters.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Lamborghini first struck an auto‑rickshaw before crashing into a parked Royal Enfield motorcycle. The force of the impact reportedly flung the motorcycle’s rider nearly 10 feet into the air as the car mounted the motorcycle’s front wheel and dragged it for several metres before eventually hitting an electric pole and coming to a stop.
One of the injured persons, identified as Taufiq, a resident of Yamunaganj, suffered serious leg injuries after being thrown several metres by the impact, police said. Others sustained fractures and bruises and were immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment.
After the crash, locals quickly surrounded the luxury car and prevented the driver from fleeing the scene. Witnesses alleged that private bouncers accompanying the accused tried to intervene aggressively and push back the crowd, which escalated tensions at the spot.
Police personnel arrived shortly afterwards, rescued the driver from the crowd, and shifted him and the injured victims to the hospital. The damaged Lamborghini was seized by authorities and taken into police custody pending further investigation.
Following the accident, a chaotic situation unfolded at the local police station as victims and community members alleged misbehaviour by the accused’s associates and claimed that law enforcement was being lenient due to the family’s influence. Some locals also alleged that there was an attempt to exert pressure for a settlement and that registration of a formal FIR had been delayed.
DCP Srivastava, however, stated that the victims had received primary treatment and that an FIR would be registered based on the complaint, with legal action to follow.
KK Mishra, the owner of Banshidhar Exports Pvt Ltd, is a well‑known tobacco supplier in the region, engaged in the supply of raw materials to gutkha manufacturers. The high‑profile involvement of his son, who was behind the wheel of a luxury Lamborghini, has drawn widespread media attention.
