Kapil Sharma’s Surrey Restaurant Attacked for Third Time in 4 Months

Surrey (Canada): Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s restaurant, Kap’s Café, in Surrey, Canada, has come under gunfire for the third time in four months, intensifying fears over gang-linked violence targeting Indian-origin businesses.

Third Shooting in Four Months

The latest incident occurred on Thursday night, when shots were fired at the café from a moving vehicle. A viral video shows a man extending his arm out of a car window and firing at least six rounds toward the establishment. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though the attack has deepened public concern over safety in the area.

Bishnoi Gang Members Claim Responsibility

Soon after the shooting, gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Kulveer Sidhu, affiliated with Lawrence Bishnoi’s crime syndicate, claimed responsibility on social media. Their post read:

“Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh… We take responsibility for the three rounds of firing at Kap’s Caffe in Surrey today… Those who cheat, do illegal work, or speak against religion in Bollywood should be prepared — bullets can come from anywhere.”

Pattern of Violence and Threats

Earlier, on August 8, over 25 rounds were fired at the same café, followed by a chilling audio threat warning of “action in Mumbai.” The first attack took place on July 10, when 10 bullets struck the restaurant while staff were inside.

Responsibility for the July shooting was claimed by Harjit Singh Laddi of the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), who alleged that the firing was retaliation for remarks in one of Sharma’s comedy shows.

Cross-Border Criminal Links

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, notorious for organized crime and Bollywood threats, appears to be extending its network to Canada. Both Indian and Canadian authorities have launched investigations, though no arrests have been made so far.
