Kapurthala: Drug menace continues, third youth dies in a week in village Raipur Araian

The campaign against drugs is not stopping the rampage of drugs in Punjab. Now another youth has died due to a drug overdose. It is being reported that in the village of Raipur Araian under Dhilwan police station in Kapurthala district, another family has been left devastated due to drug addiction. Just a week ago, two youths died from drug addiction and today one more case was reported.

Samuel was the only brother of three sisters

According to the information, a drug addict of the village, who was the only brother of three sisters, has died due to a drug overdose, which has caused a wave of mourning in the area. The deceased youth has been identified as Samuel alias Sunny (32), son of Abdul, a resident of village Raipur Araian.

The villagers said that the deceased youth had been a drug addict for a long time. During the conversation, the village sarpanch Varinder Kumar Parashar, Stephen Kala, and other dignitaries said that on April 9, when two youths of the village died of a drug overdose on the same day, the police took action and arrested the deceased youth Sunny.

Police told him that if he wants to quit drugs, then we will get you admitted to the drug de-addiction center. However, the said youth ran away from home in fear and went to his sister’s village, Bagrian. Today, the news of his death due to a drug overdose was received, which was confirmed by his family members.
