Chandigarh, August 11: This information was given by the chairperson of the Punjab Women’s Commission, Lali Gill. She said that both singers are currently abroad.
Both of them have said on the phone that whenever they come to India, they will go to the commission’s office and apologise. However, they have asked for seven more days. On behalf of Punjab Police, AIG Yadvinder Singh Sidhu reached the commission and also submitted his report. He said that the lawyers of both singers will present their side soon.
The chairperson of the Commission herself listened to the songs
Chairperson of Punjab Women Commission Raj Lali Gill said that she herself listened to the songs of Honey Singh and Karan Aujla on social media. After this, the Commission started taking strict action in this matter.
The commission has written to the police that objectionable language has been used against women in Honey Singh’s song ‘Millionaire’. At the same time, inappropriate words have been used for women in Karan Aujla’s song ‘MF Gabru’, which is completely wrong.
The Women’s Commission has ordered the DGP to direct an officer of the Punjab Police of Chandigarh to investigate the matter and take strict action. The police will also give a report to the commission today on the action taken against both the singers.

- Karan Aujla Controversy (December 2024)-
During his show in Chandigarh, he was accused of promoting alcohol in his songs. The matter reached the High Court, after which the police intervened and stopped him from singing such songs during the show. - Yo Yo Honey Singh Controversy (March 2025)-
BJP had objected to his show in Chandigarh on Shaheedi Diwas on March 23. The party had written a letter to the administrator saying that on this day Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged, and such programs can have a wrong impact on the youth. Honey Singh had started the program ‘Main Fan Singh Bhagat Singh’ on that day.
