Karnal Headmaster suspended for molestation; 10 girl students lodged complaint

The education department has suspended Dayanand, the head master of a government school located on Jind Road in the Assandh block of Karnal in Haryana. 10 girl students from second to fourth class in the school have made serious allegations of molestation against the head master. The police arrested him on Friday itself. He will be produced in the court today.

As soon as the matter came to light, the District Primary Education Officer Karnal, issued an order to suspend the head master with immediate effect.

Immediate action under rules

The Primary Education Officer Karnal suspended the accused head master Dayanand, under Haryana Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules 2016. According to the order, during the period of suspension, the accused will get a subsistence allowance under Rule 83. His headquarters has been fixed as the Block Education Officer’s office in Karnal. He will not be able to go anywhere without the permission of the competent authority.

A girl student made a courageous disclosure

The entire incident started on August 18. That day, during the break, a student went to keep her tiffin in the class. Then the head master misbehaved with her. The girl had come to school after about two and a half months and due to fear, she could not tell anything immediately after going home. But on August 20, she told the whole truth to her mother. The girl’s mother reached the school that day and quarreled with the accused. After this, the family filed a complaint in the Asandh Mahila Police Station.
