    Karnataka: 7 minors detained in two separate POCSO cases for assaulting girls Hubballi

    Karnataka: Two separate cases of sexual assault of two minor girls were reported in Hubballi, Karnataka, on Sunday. Police detained seven minors in these cases. These cases were registered in the City (City) and Ashok Nagar police station areas of Hubballi. Police have registered cases under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act in both cases and have begun investigations.

    In the City police station area, a minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three minors. Acting swiftly after receiving the complaint, police detained all three accused. Meanwhile, in the Ashok Nagar police station area, another minor girl was allegedly molested and sexually assaulted by two minors. According to police, the girl’s father is also alleged to have been assaulted in this case. Four accused have been detained and are being interrogated in this case.

    Police Commissioner Appeals to Parents to Be Vigilant

    Speaking to the media about the incidents, Hubli-Dharwad Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar appealed to parents to pay special attention to their children’s interactions and leisure activities. He warned that negligence could lead children to engage in serious crimes, potentially ruining their future.

    Other Recent POCSO Cases in Karnataka

    Amidst the Hubli incidents, POCSO-related cases have also been reported in other parts of the state. On January 3, a Kannada YouTuber was arrested in the Magadi police station area of ​​Bengaluru South district for allegedly kidnapping and molesting a minor girl. According to police, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on January 1, while the accused was in a car with two of his friends.

    Earlier, on December 29, 2025, police arrested a 27-year-old businessman under the POCSO Act in Bengaluru’s Bagalagunte police station area. The accused is accused of defrauding the victim’s sister under the pretext of marriage and allegedly fleeing with ₹7.5 million in cash and 550 grams of gold jewellery. A case was registered on December 13, 2025.
