Karnataka: Parameshwara denies allegations of IPL ticket misuse

Bengaluru: On Monday, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara dismissed allegations of IPL ticket misuse by MLAs. He stated that tickets are booked online and only those who purchased them attend the matches.

MLAs or family members can use
Parameshwara clarified that MLAs themselves or their family members can attend matches at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. He said that if the ticket is marked “non-transferable,” it cannot be used by anyone else, but if there is no such condition, friends or family members can also attend.

Difficult to prove wrongdoing
He said that due to the online booking process, it is difficult to trace who used the ticket. Therefore, proving any misuse is difficult.

Controversy over ticket allocation
This statement comes after Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar recently announced that MLAs and MPs would be given three tickets each for Royal Challengers Bengaluru matches. Congress MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar also demanded that each MLA be given at least five tickets.
