Jammu and Kashmir administration has boosted up security in the valley ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit tomorrow, March 7.

Security has also been put on high alert in and around Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, the venue of the Prime Minister’s rally, as thousands of people are expected from different parts of Kashmir.

To avoid any untoward incident before the PM’s visit, security forces have set up checkpoints in different areas. People are ready to welcome the Prime Minister in Kashmir in anticipation of the announcement of the development package.

Abdul Rashid Ghani, a political leader, told on Wednesday, “First of all, I want to thank the media for reaching out to us. People in every district of Kashmir are waiting to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thousands of people will turn up.”

The Prime Minister will also launch ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’ and ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign’. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will distribute appointment orders to about 1000 new government employees of Jammu and Kashmir and will also interact with the beneficiaries of various government schemes, including women achievers, Lakhpati Didis, farmers, entrepreneurs etc.

It said the Prime Minister will also launch around 43 projects that will develop a wide range of pilgrimage and tourism destinations across the country. The release said the Prime Minister will announce 42 tourist destinations selected under the Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) scheme.
