Situation starts improving in Kashmir: Restrictions continues as School shut till March 7

All schools and colleges across the Kashmir Division will remain closed until March 7 as authorities continue precautionary restrictions following protests in the region.

The decision was announced by Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, who said the step was taken keeping the prevailing situation in mind and to ensure the safety of students and staff. The government said it is closely monitoring the situation and will decide on reopening educational institutions after reviewing ground conditions.

Restrictions imposed earlier in several parts of Kashmir have also been extended to prevent any law-and-order issues after protests broke out over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israel strike. Security has been tightened across the Valley, with police and paramilitary forces deployed in sensitive areas.

Meanwhile, the University of Kashmir has postponed examinations scheduled for March 4, and fresh dates will be announced later. Authorities have advised students to stay updated through official channels regarding further announcements.

Officials said the situation is being reviewed regularly and further decisions on reopening institutions will depend on the law-and-order situation in the Valley.
