Kavinder Gupta Takes Oath as 30th Governor of Himachal Pradesh in Shimla

Shimla: Kavinder Gupta took the oath of office and secrecy as the 30th Governor of Himachal Pradesh at Raj Bhavan Shimla on Tuesday. The oath was administered by Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, cabinet ministers, senior administrative officials, and other dignitaries. Gupta succeeded outgoing Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

Grand Welcome in Shimla

The new Governor arrived in Shimla on Monday evening and was welcomed at Lok Bhavan by several senior leaders, including Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, and Health Minister Dhani Ram Shandil.

His wife Bindu Gupta also accompanied him during the visit.

Focus on Development and Welfare

Speaking to reporters before the ceremony, Kavinder Gupta said he would work with all sections of society for the overall development and welfare of Himachal Pradesh.

He described his new role as a major responsibility and challenge, adding that he would perform his duties with complete loyalty and dedication.
