Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal will march to the Prime Minister’s residence with his supporters on Tuesday afternoon. Kejriwal and his associates will set out from the party headquarters at 12:00 PM, accompanied by 100 people, to protest against E-20 petrol and submit a petition signed by 2.33 lakh citizens to the Prime Minister.
However, permission for the march has not yet been granted by the Delhi Police.
Public Distressed by E-20
Following protests at Jantar Mantar and outside the Prime Minister’s residence, AAP has now announced a march to the PM’s residence in Delhi. Addressing a press conference at the AAP headquarters on Monday, Kejriwal claimed that the public is distressed over E-20 fuel. He alleged that vehicles are suffering from reduced mileage and mechanical breakdowns. He further accused the government of forcibly imposing this policy without providing a valid rationale.
Public Support at Town Hall
Kejriwal stated that a town hall meeting held on Saturday to oppose E-20 drew massive crowds both inside and outside the venue, with approximately 7 lakh people watching online. He alleged that any influencer, content creator, or affected individual who raises their voice is subjected to trolling and intimidation through the filing of FIRs.
Online Petition Launched to Raise Awareness
Kejriwal mentioned that an online petition addressed to the Prime Minister was launched a few days ago. Within just a few days, 233,238 people signed the campaign. He had also sought an appointment to meet the Prime Minister a month ago but received no response.
On Tuesday, he and his party workers intend to personally submit this grievance to the Prime Minister at his residence. He expressed hope that the Prime Minister would meet them and listen to their concerns.
