Kejriwal Targets Amit Shah Over Tiger Shroff Firing, Says Voting for BJP Means Inviting Lawrence Bishnoi as ‘Son-in-Law’ to Punjab

Chandigarh: A political row has erupted in Punjab ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s scheduled visit on October 20. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal has targeted Shah over the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai, accusing the BJP of failing to control law and order.

Kejriwal made the remarks after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the firing near Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday. The claim has not yet been independently verified, and police are investigating the incident.

In a post on X, Kejriwal accused the BJP of allowing a notorious gangster to operate with access to facilities to commit crimes in India and abroad. He used the phrase “son-in-law” to attack the BJP and warned Punjab voters against supporting the party.

“They cannot manage law and order in their own states. They have made the country’s biggest gangster their ‘son-in-law,’ granting him every facility to commit crimes not only in India but throughout the world,” Kejriwal wrote.

He added that BJP leaders would visit Punjab to speak about law and order and said voting for them would be like inviting the same “son-in-law” into the state.

Amit Shah Accuses AAP Government of Failing to Curb Drugs

Kejriwal’s remarks came ahead of Amit Shah’s visit to Punjab on October 20. The Union Home Minister has announced plans to meet families of people who raised their voices against drug trafficking and subsequently died.

In a post on social media on Sunday evening, Shah accused the AAP government of allowing the drug problem to worsen in Punjab. He alleged that the trade in chitta, a synthetic drug commonly associated with the state’s drug crisis, was flourishing under the government’s protection.

Shah said the deaths of people who spoke out against drug traffickers had caused deep suffering among their families. He said he would meet them during his visit to share their grief.

The Home Minister also said attempts to silence people who oppose the drug trade would not succeed. He asserted that the Central Government would identify those involved in drug trafficking and take steps to put them behind bars.

Shah said the Centre would work to free Punjab and the rest of the country from the drug menace.

Tiger Shroff Firing Incident Triggers Political Exchange

The firing incident in Mumbai has now become part of the political exchange between the AAP and the BJP ahead of Shah’s Punjab visit.

Three men allegedly opened fire near Tiger Shroff’s car in the Juhu area on Sunday evening before fleeing on a motorcycle. The actor escaped unharmed, while his driver was reportedly injured. Police have launched an investigation to identify the suspects.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the police are examining the claim as part of their investigation.

While Kejriwal has used the incident to question the BJP’s handling of law and order, Shah has focused his Punjab visit on the drug menace and families affected by it. The exchange comes as both parties trade accusations over security and governance in the state.
