July 5, 2026
Pune: The Agarwal family, still mourning the death of 26-year-old Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal, has been struck by another tragedy. Ketan’s paternal grandfather, Devichand Agarwal, passed away at a private hospital in Pune, where he had been undergoing treatment for serious health complications.
Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, expressed his grief by sharing a heartfelt message on social media that read, “Miss You Dad,” paying tribute to the family’s patriarch.
Family Mourns Another Loss
According to sources familiar with the family’s circumstances, Devichand had undergone major heart surgery some time ago and had been battling recurring health issues since then. His condition reportedly remained fragile in the months following the procedure.
Family sources said the tragic death of his grandson deeply affected him emotionally, adding to the family’s grief during an already difficult period.
Earlier this week, Devichand’s condition reportedly deteriorated, following which he was admitted to a private hospital in Pune for emergency treatment. Despite intensive medical care and ventilator support, he succumbed to his condition.
Ketan Agarwal Murder Investigation Continues
Devichand’s death comes just weeks after Ketan Agarwal allegedly died after being pushed into a deep gorge at Pune’s Lohagad Fort. Police have arrested Ketan’s fiancée, Siya Goyal (20), and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary (22), in connection with the case.
According to the ongoing investigation, police have allegedly recovered deleted messages, online search history and other digital evidence suggesting the crime was planned in advance. Investigators claim the accused searched online for methods to kill Ketan before allegedly deciding to push him from the fort.
During questioning, Siya Goyal allegedly told investigators that she did not want to marry Ketan and believed calling off the wedding would bring disrepute to her family. Police say the investigation into the case is ongoing.
