Ketan Murder Case Update: Death scene reenacted at Lohagarh Fort; dummy thrown into 300-foot gorge

On Wednesday, the Pune Rural Police conducted a crime scene reconstruction at Lohagad Fort in connection with the high-profile murder case of Ketan Agarwal. To better understand the sequence of events, investigating officers threw a fiber dummy—matching Ketan’s height and weight—into a gorge over 300 feet deep. The day prior, on Tuesday, the police had analyzed the movements (gait analysis) of the second accused, Chetan Chaudhary.

Siya Goyal and Chetan Babulal Chaudhary are accused of murdering Siya’s fiancé, 26-year-old real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal, at Lohagad Fort on June 18.

    Why was the scene reconstructed?
The objective of the crime scene reconstruction was to determine the route Chetan Chaudhary took on the day of the incident, his movements, and exactly how the event unfolded. During the investigation, the police also recovered the trousers Chetan was allegedly wearing on the day of the murder. Meanwhile, on Monday, a Maharashtra court granted the Pune Rural Police an additional five days of custody for Siya Goyal and Chetan Babulal Chaudhary. Both accused were produced before the Vadgaon Maval Court on Monday following the expiration of their initial police remand.

Why is the investigation incomplete? Police explain the reason to the court
While seeking an extension of the remand, investigating officers informed the court that several crucial aspects of the investigation remained pending. The police stated that they needed to re-examine and reconstruct the crime scene in the presence of the accused, investigate Chetan’s movements following the murder, analyze phone conversations between the two accused, and gather evidence regarding the destruction of Ketan’s passport.

Allegation of destroying the passport to prevent the Bali trip
According to investigating officers, Siya Goyal allegedly stole Ketan’s passport while they were stopping at a food mall; she later tore it up and burned it. At the time, the family was en route to Mumbai Airport for a pre-wedding trip to Bali. Upon reaching the airport, Ketan could not find his passport, forcing the cancellation of the Bali trip. The police believe this entire plot was hatched to prevent the couple from traveling abroad together. Earlier, the driver transporting the family had also claimed that during the journey, Siya had briefly returned to the parked car—where she was alone—and retrieved some items.

Old video from before the murder surfaces
Meanwhile, an old video of Ketan Agarwal has surfaced, showing him dancing with his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and both their families at a function in Pune. The video reportedly dates back to May 7, approximately a month before the murder. In the footage, 26-year-old Ketan is seen celebrating joyfully with his relatives. The video was shared on Instagram by singer Reetu Sharma, who had performed at the same family event.
