He said in his appeal that it is wrong to impose the National Security Act (NSA) on the elected MP.
The matter was heard in the court today. The court has issued a notice to the Central and Punjab governments in this matter and sought a reply. At the same time, the next hearing of the case has been fixed on August 28.

Amritpal Singh is currently lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam. The petition filed by him in the court states that extending the period of NSA by one year is completely wrong. He has termed the action taken against him as unconstitutional. He said that he has been away from his state, relatives and people for more than a year. The petition states that his life and freedom have been taken away in an unusual and cruel manner.

Meanwhile, Amritpal Singh’s membership of Parliament has now been challenged. Regarding this, Vikramjit Singh, who was an independent candidate from Khadoor Sahib, has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. 5 things have been mentioned in the petition.
It has been argued that Amritpal Singh has hidden many information in his nomination form. The nomination form is incomplete. Information about funds, donations, expenses has been hidden. Religious places have been used to ask for votes.
