Manohar Lal Khattar targets Congress over women’s quota in Jalandhar

In Jalandhar, Union Minister and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister Baby Monia addressed a press conference. Khattar said that injustice was being done to women in the Lok Sabha and to half of the country’s population. The Congress government never thought about this.

Work started to give reservation to women from 1971-74, but the opposition put some kind of hurdle. After that, in 1979, the participation of women in the panchayats was ensured for the first time. Some panchayats allowed participation up to 50 percent.

Bill could not be introduced in 2023

In 2023, under PM Modi’s leadership, the Women’s Reservation Bill was brought as the 128th amendment. But due to some shortcomings, it could not be introduced. Now, once again, the Modi government has taken the initiative to implement women’s reservation before 2029. We have prepared its draft. Now again the opposition is playing a disgusting game. The Congress did not support the government on this bill.

Reservation should not be given a political angle

Khattar said that Congress will have to bear the consequence of this crime. The anger of women will be seen in the election results. The Prime Minister has said that this reservation should not be given a political angle. The Prime Minister said that I do not even want credit for this. If anyone wants to take credit, they can take it.
Khattar said that the 33 percent reservation that women were supposed to get in politics could not be achieved because of Congress. Now this will move forward like a non-political issue. Khattar said that inside Chennai, a legislator even burned copies of this bill. It was opposed in Tamil Nadu.
