Jamshedpur: Even after 48 hours since the kidnapping of Kairav ​​Gandhi, the 24-year-old son of prominent Jamshedpur industrialist Devang Gandhi, Jharkhand Police have not made any major breakthroughs in the case. The kidnappers have demanded a ransom of ₹5 crore from the family.

Ransom call received from Indonesia
Police investigation has revealed that the number from which the ransom demand was made is from Indonesia. The message was sent via WhatsApp. The Cyber ​​Cell is working to trace the source and location of this foreign number.

Seven special teams deployed in four states
Jharkhand Police has formed seven special teams to ensure the safe recovery of Kairav. These teams are raiding possible hideouts in Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha. Joint teams of Jamshedpur and Saraikela police are scanning CCTV footage from the city’s toll plazas and all exit points.

Kairav’s Last Movements
According to police, Kairav ​​Gandhi left home in his car around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. He told his family that he would first visit the SBI branch in Bistupur, then his company in Adityapur, and return home for lunch. However, when he did not return home by 1:45 p.m. and his mobile phone was switched off, the family became concerned.

Father Receives Kidnapping Message
Kairav’s father, Devang Gandhi, told police that he was in an important meeting in Adityapur on Tuesday when he received eight to ten calls on WhatsApp from an unknown foreign number, which he could not answer. Later, a message came from the same number informing him of his son’s kidnapping and demanding a ransom.

Car found abandoned on NH-33
That same evening, Kairav’s car was found abandoned near a resort in the Kandrabeda area on NH-33. This area falls under the jurisdiction of the Chandil police station. The car keys were in the ignition, and his mobile phone was found lying on the ground beneath the vehicle. According to police, Kairav’s last recorded mobile location was in the Sonari Adarsh ​​Nagar area of ​​Jamshedpur.

Investigation into a fake police vehicle
Investigators suspect that the kidnappers stopped Kairav’s car and forcibly took him away in another vehicle. A suspicious vehicle has also been identified, which was repeatedly seen circling Kairav’s car. Although the vehicle had a police insignia, its registration number later turned out to be that of another vehicle. Police are now searching for that vehicle.

Forensic investigation and digital tracking underway
Forensic investigation of the abandoned car is underway. Technical evidence is also being gathered through call detail records and electronic surveillance. The cyber cell is continuously trying to trace the Indonesian number.
