Kullu: Cylinder Blast triggers massive fire, three members sustain severe burns

A massive fire broke out on Wednesday morning due to a gas cylinder leak in the Hurla Panchayat of Bhuntar, Kullu district. Three members of the same family sustained severe burns in the incident. The accident occurred around 8:15 AM while food was being cooked in the kitchen. Flames quickly engulfed the kitchen, causing panic throughout the house.

Those severely burned in the incident include Swaru Ram’s wife, Kamala Devi; his son, Gyan Chand; and Pinky, the daughter of his brother, Gangu Ram. Following the incident, locals immediately initiated relief and rescue efforts and rushed the three injured individuals to the Community Hospital in Tegubehad for treatment.

All three referred to Kullu Hospital
After administering first aid, doctors referred all three patients to the Regional Hospital in Kullu due to their critical condition; they are currently undergoing treatment there. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by a gas leak from the cylinder.

Police investigating the incident
Upon receiving the information, the Bhuntar police arrived at the scene, inspected the site, and launched an investigation. The police are working to determine the circumstances under which the gas leak occurred and whether there were any other underlying causes for the accident.

Panchayat Pradhan seeks financial assistance
Vikesh Kumar, the Pradhan of Hurla Panchayat, stated that three people were burned in the accident and are currently receiving hospital treatment. He has urged the administration to provide immediate financial assistance and all possible relief to the affected family.

Meanwhile, local residents also expressed concern over the incident and emphasized the need for greater awareness regarding the safe use of LPG.
