Bike Collides with Dumper in Kurukshetra: Contractor from Karnal Killed

Kurukshetra: A contractor died in a road accident on Ladwa Road in Kurukshetra district, while his two companions sustained injuries. The accident occurred near the Badachpur petrol pump. The contractor was traveling to Ladwa to drop off the laborers working with him on his motorcycle. During the journey, a dumper truck traveling ahead of them suddenly applied its brakes and swerved abruptly, causing the motorcycle approaching from behind to crash directly into the rear of the dumper.

Deceased identified as Satish Kumar

The deceased has been identified as Satish Kumar, a resident of village Bir Retarkhana in Kurukshetra district. Satish Kumar worked as a contractor and is survived by his wife and two children. The family has been plunged into mourning following the tragedy. His body is scheduled to undergo a post-mortem examination today.

Injured Laborer Gives Statement to Police

In a statement given to the police, the injured survivor, Praveen Kumar a resident of Khurdban Dhanaura in Yamunanagar district, stated that he works as a daily wage laborer. Yesterday, Thursday morning, he had traveled with his colleague, Amrit Lal (a resident of Dhanaura Jagir, Karnal), on contractor Satish Kumar’s motorcycle to work in the village of Bhadso (Karnal). Satish had secured a contract to demolish a concrete roof slab (lenter).

After the work was completed, Satish Kumar was riding his motorcycle to drop both of them off in Ladwa. Around 7:30 to 8:00 PM, as they reached a spot on Ladwa Road just past the Badachpur petrol pump, the driver of a dumper truck (bearing registration number HR-55Q-8524) traveling ahead of them suddenly slammed on the brakes and swerved sharply.

Motorcycle Crashes into the Rear of the Dumper

Unable to control the vehicle, their motorcycle crashed directly into the rear of the dumper truck. The impact was so severe that all three riders, along with the motorcycle, were thrown onto the road. Following the accident, a crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene. Someone alerted, “Dial 112.” A police team arrived at the scene and immediately transported the three injured individuals including us to the CHC Ladwa.

Satish Succumbs to Injuries at Hospital

Upon examining Satish Kumar at the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead. In addition to him, Amrit Lal sustained injuries to his head, arms, and other parts of his body in the accident. Based on the ‘ruqqa’ (preliminary report) received from the CHC Ladwa and the dumper’s registration number, the police have registered a case. The police are currently scouring CCTV footage from the vicinity of the accident site.
