Kushinagar Murder Case: Young man brutally murders mother and wife, panic in village

Lucknow: A heartbreaking incident has unfolded in Kushinagar district of Uttar Pradesh. A 30-year-old man beat his mother and wife to death with sticks and bricks on the roof of their house. The incident occurred on Monday morning in Parsa village, under the Ahirauli police station area, leaving the entire area stunned.

Villagers rushed to the scene after hearing screams, chaos ensued

When locals arrived at the scene after hearing screams, the scene was horrific. According to eyewitnesses, the accused, Sikandar Gupta, began throwing pieces of meat at the villagers, causing panic in the village. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and arrested him.

Sikandar worked as a laborer in Mumbai and had returned to the village only about a month ago.

Brutal murder on the roof

According to police, Sikandar first attacked his wife Priyanka (28) and mother Runa Devi (60) with sticks. He then picked up a cement brick and struck them repeatedly on the head, killing them on the spot. After the murders, he committed inhumane acts with the bodies, creating an atmosphere of fear in the entire village.

Villagers also say that the accused was addicted to alcohol and marijuana and frequently assaulted his wife and mother and threatened to kill them.

Police investigation and mental state investigation

Kushinagar Superintendent of Police Keshav Mishra said, “A case of double murder has been registered. The accused has been taken into custody and is being interrogated. His mental state is also being examined.”

Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the motives behind the incident and the entire incident.

Experts suspect serious mental illness

Independent criminologist Ashok Srivastava said that such highly violent incidents point to a serious mental disorder and deep psychological trauma. He explained that such cases demonstrate a mentality of complete control over the victim.

According to senior Lucknow-based clinical psychologist P.K. Khatri, the accused exhibits symptoms of psychosis (serious mental illness). “His extreme agitation and avoidance of conversation indicate a deterioration in his mental state,” he said.
