Toll rates at Ladowal Toll Plaza, one of the most expensive toll plazas in Punjab, are set to increase. This increase is going to happen from April 1. Let us tell you that the new rates will be applicable from midnight today.

According to a notification issued by the National Highways Authority of India, the rates of various vehicles have been increased by Rs 5. Along with this, cash payment has now been completely stopped at the toll plaza and payment will be made only through digital mode or FASTag.

According to the new rates, the one-way toll for cars, jeeps and vans will now be Rs 225 instead of Rs 220, while for the return journey, Rs 340 will have to be paid instead of Rs 335. The one-way toll for light commercial vehicles and minibuses has increased from Rs 360 to Rs 365, while for both the ways, Rs 550 will be charged instead of Rs 545.

In addition, the monthly pass fee has been increased from Rs 340 to Rs 350. Similarly, the annual pass, which provides the facility of 200 trips, has now become Rs 3075 instead of Rs 3000.

It is worth mentioning that according to the officials, the toll rates are fixed every year on the basis of Wholesale Price Index (WPI). The length of the road, flyovers, underpasses and other facilities are also taken into account. This time, an increase of 2.5 percent to 10 percent has been recorded.
