Earlier, toll charges for cars and jeeps were increased on April 1, 2026. Under the latest revision, single-journey toll charges have been raised by ₹10 to ₹60 across different vehicle categories.

Ladwowal Toll Charges Revised Again

At the Ladwowal Toll Plaza, car, jeep, van and other light motor vehicle users will now pay ₹235 for a single journey instead of ₹225, while the return journey within 24 hours will cost ₹350.

For small commercial vehicles and mini buses, the single-trip toll has increased from ₹365 to ₹380, while the return fare has been fixed at ₹570.

Two-axle buses and trucks will now pay ₹795 for a single journey, up from ₹765, while the return fare has been revised to ₹1,190.

Three-axle commercial vehicles will pay ₹865 for a single trip and ₹1,300 for a return journey.

Heavy construction machinery and multi-axle vehicles will now be charged ₹1,245 for a single trip and ₹1,865 for a return trip.

The highest increase has been recorded for oversized vehicles with seven or more axles, whose single-trip toll has gone up from ₹1,455 to ₹1,515, while the return fare has been fixed at ₹2,270.

Rates Increased at Seven Other Toll Plazas

Apart from Ladwowal, revised toll rates have also been implemented at Kalajhar, Lehrabega, Kot Karor, Ghulal, Kala Tibba, Khuiyan Sarwar, Shekhpura and Paind toll plazas.

At these plazas, toll charges for cars and light motor vehicles have generally increased by ₹5 to ₹10, while revised rates have also been notified for buses, trucks and other commercial vehicles.

The revised charges are as follows:

• Kalajhar Toll Plaza (NH-64): Cars ₹115 (single), ₹175 (return); buses/trucks ₹390 (single), ₹585 (return).
• Lehrabega Toll Plaza (NH-7): Cars ₹80 (single), ₹120 (return); buses/trucks ₹270 (single), ₹400 (return).
• Kot Karor Toll Plaza (NH-15): Cars ₹50 (single), ₹70 (return); buses/trucks ₹165 (single), ₹250 (return).
• Ghulal Toll Plaza (NH-5): Cars ₹115 (single), ₹170 (return); buses/trucks ₹390 (single), ₹580 (return).
• Kala Tibba Toll Plaza: Cars ₹50 (single), ₹80 (return); buses/trucks ₹175 (single), ₹265 (return).
• Khuiyan Sarwar Toll Plaza (NH-7): Cars ₹105 (single), ₹155 (return); buses/trucks ₹350 (single), ₹520 (return).
• Shekhpura Toll Plaza (NH-254): Cars ₹55 (single), ₹85 (return); buses/trucks ₹185 (single), ₹280 (return).
• Paind Toll Plaza (NH-52): Cars ₹95 (single), ₹145 (return); buses/trucks ₹325 (single), ₹485 (return).

Monthly Pass Becomes Costlier

The revision is expected to significantly impact daily commuters. The monthly pass for regular users at Ladwowal Toll Plaza has been increased to ₹7,815, making it one of the highest monthly toll charges in Punjab.

Relief for Local Residents

Despite the hike, NHAI has not revised the monthly pass for non-commercial vehicle owners residing within a 20-kilometre radius of the toll plaza. The local monthly pass will continue to cost ₹360.

Additionally, registered commercial vehicles from Ludhiana will continue to receive concessional toll rates ranging between ₹115 and ₹755.

Why Were Toll Rates Increased?

The revised toll charges have been implemented at more than 50 toll plazas across Punjab and Haryana after NHAI updated its tolling framework.

According to the authority, the revision follows the restoration of the Wholesale Price Index (WPI)-based linking factor of 1.641, which is used to calculate user fees, resulting in a marginal increase in toll charges across the national highway network.
