Jalandhar: A car and a speeding sports bike collided head-on late last night on Jalandhar’s Damoria Bridge. Two young men riding the bike on the wrong side were seriously injured. Both vehicles were badly damaged in the accident.

High-Impact Crash Around Midnight

The incident occurred around 12:00 a.m. The collision was so intense that one of the युवकों on the bike was reportedly thrown into the air before falling onto the road.

Passersby quickly stepped in to help the injured and rushed them to a nearby hospital using e-rickshaws and taxis. The police were also informed soon after the accident.

Driver Alleges Rash Driving and Drunken Condition

Abhinav, a resident of Vikaspuri, who was driving the car, said he was returning home from the gym at the time of the incident. As he was ascending the Damoria Bridge flyover, a sports bike coming from the wrong side crashed into his vehicle.

He alleged that the two youths on the bike were drunk and were not wearing helmets. According to him, the bike was moving at a speed of over 100 km/h.

Traffic Disrupted, Police Begin Investigation

The damaged vehicles remained stranded in the middle of the road, leading to temporary traffic disruption in the area.

After receiving information, a PCR team from the local police station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Officials said the injured had already been shifted to the hospital before their arrival.

The PCR officer confirmed that the duty officer has been informed, adding that further legal action will be taken based on statements from the victims’ families.
