2 goods trains collided in UP, both loco pilots serious

Fatehpur: Two goods trains collided in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. One goods train was standing on the track when another goods train hit it from behind. The collision was so severe that the engine and the guard’s compartment of the goods train standing in front fell off the track. The loco pilots of both the trains.

The loco pilots of both the trains were seriously injured in the accident. The incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 8 am on DFC i.e. Dedicated Freight Corridor. Only goods trains run on this track. Therefore, the incident did not affect passenger trains. Senior railway officials have reached the spot.

The loco pilots of both the trains have been admitted to the nearest hospital. Relief and rescue operations are underway. The track is being cleared. The accident took place near Pambhipur in Khaga between Kanpur-Fatehpur.

The train was standing at the red signal

Railway sources said that there was a red signal on the track. A goods train was standing there. Suddenly a goods train came from behind at a high speed and hit it. Due to the accident, rail traffic on the freight corridor is affected. Many goods trains have been stopped. Routes of some have been changed. The railway administration has ordered an inquiry.
