New Delhi: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday, security measures have been significantly increased.
A multi-layered security arrangement is in place, particularly around the locations PM Modi will visit. The Prime Minister’s agenda includes inspecting development work for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025 and inaugurating projects worth approximately Rs 5,500 crore in Prayagraj.
During his visit, PM Modi will offer prayers at the revered Sangam Nose and tour notable sites such as Akshay Vat and the Lete Hanuman Temple. He will also introduce the ‘Sahayak’ chatbot, aimed at aiding visitors during the Mahakumbh, which, along with other initiatives, is expected to enhance the organization and accessibility of the event and promote Prayagraj as a cultural and spiritual center.
His schedule includes arriving in Prayagraj around 12:15 p.m., where he will perform rituals at the Sangam Nose. He will then offer prayers at Akshay Vat Vriksh and Hanuman Mandir and Saraswati Koop. Following these activities, he will tour the Mahakumbh exhibition site at approximately 1:30 p.m. before launching several development initiatives, particularly those related to the Mahakumbh 2025.
These initiatives encompass various rail and road projects, including the construction of 10 new Road Over Bridges and permanent ghats along riverfront roads, enhancing the city’s infrastructure and connectivity.
Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate projects aimed at intercepting, tapping, diverting, and treating minor drains that flow into the Ganga, ensuring no untreated water is discharged into the river. He will also launch infrastructure projects related to drinking water and power supply.
Furthermore, he is scheduled to inaugurate significant temple corridors, including the Bharadwaj Ashram Corridor, Shringverpur Dham Corridor, Akshayvat Corridor, and Hanuman Mandir Corridor. PM Modi is expected to address a public meeting around 2 p.m.
