Mumbai: Akanksha Puri feels privileged to explore different dimensions of her character in her recent project, “Dons and Darlings.” The TV actress expressed her enthusiasm for the chance to portray various facets of her role, emphasizing its complexity and diversity. Playing Naaz, the daughter of a powerful Don, Akanksha found her character remarkably distinct from her own background as the daughter of an Assistant Police Commissioner. She immersed herself in Naaz’s intricate life and relationships, stating, “Naaz is very different from me, and that’s what made the role exciting. As an artist, I was fortunate to explore so many shades within one character. Naaz is a daughter, a wife, a lover, and part of the most powerful family. Yet, all she craves is love. I believe many people will resonate with her struggles and emotions.”
Regarding her collaboration with her co-stars, Akanksha described the experience as smooth and enjoyable, noting the natural chemistry among the cast despite not having worked together previously. She appreciated their preparedness, which made filming easy.
Reflecting on her work with ALTT, the former Bigg Boss OTT contestant mentioned, “This is my second project with ALTT after Honey Trap Squad. It’s always a pleasure to work with them. They are extremely organized and clear about the creative vision, which makes the process efficient and enjoyable. I’d love to collaborate with them again.”
“Dons and Darlings” also features Manish Khanna, known from Naagin, and Imran Khan, recognized from Beyhadh, in lead roles. Released on December 27, 2024, the thriller revolves around two rival gangsters, Sikandar and Balraj, who aspire to secure a position in the upcoming election to dominate the city and establish a formidable criminal empire, all while indulging in extravagant and wild nights with different women.
