Amid zero visibility in Amritsar Western Disturbance gets active: IMD predicts rain in border areas on Nov 15

Amritsar: Western Disturbance (WD) has been active in West Himalayas since night. Its effect will be seen on the mountains. There are chances of snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. After this a drop in temperature can be seen in Punjab and Chandigarh. The effect of this WD can also be seen in the border areas of Punjab on November 15. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Tarn Taran on this day.

According to the Meteorological Center (IMD), the maximum temperature of Punjab has seen a drop of 2.2 degrees and Chandigarh by 1.8 degrees in a single day. At the same time, the minimum temperature has also dropped by about 1 degree. But it is still about 7 degrees more than normal.

Along with snowfall in the mountains, the effect of fog has also been seen in Punjab-Chandigarh. For the last few days, visibility in Amritsar is continuously reaching zero. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding fog till November 15.

Due to heavy fog, the flight timings are constantly changing. The flight of Nias from Amritsar to Milan was scheduled to take off at 3:30 pm and the flight of Qatar Airways to Doha was scheduled to take off at 4:10 am, but both the flights did not depart. Apart from this, the Indigo flight scheduled to go to Delhi at 6:05 am took off late at 8:05 am.
