Mumbai: Anushka Shetty is set to take on a powerful role in the film Ghaati, which is scheduled for release on April 18, 2025. The announcement was made through a lively video featuring director Krish Jagarlamudi, Anushka, and the producers.
The release date poster depicts Anushka in a striking black saree, holding a gun and sporting a fierce expression with blood splattered across her body. The tagline, “Victim, Criminal, Legend,” hints at an unconventional storyline that explores complex themes of humanity, survival, and redemption, promising an intense look into the moral ambiguities of right and wrong.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, this film is presented by UV Creations and produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi. Ghaati marks a second collaboration between Anushka and Krish, following their successful film Vedam, and is also Anushka’s fourth project with UV Creations.
The film boasts a talented crew, with Manojh Reddy Katasani handling cinematography, Nagavelli Vidya Sagar composing the music, and Thota Tharrani as the art director. Editing is done by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N Swamy, while Sai Madhav Burra pens the dialogues. It is being made on an ambitious scale with a high budget and advanced technical standards.
Ghaati will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Anushka Shetty, who primarily works in Telugu and Tamil cinema, debuted in 2005 with the film Super and gained popularity with S. S. Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu. Notable films in her career include Arundhati, where she played dual roles, and her acclaimed portrayal of Princess Devasena in the Baahubali series.
