Indore: Senior congress leader  Digvijaya Singh on Saturday raised concerns over Arvind Kejriwal’s stance on corruption, and said that Keijriwal who began his political career with the anti-corruption movement, is now not doing enough to address the issue.

Speaking with the media Singh said that  that Kejriwal, who had initially fought for the establishment of the Lokpal with Anna Hazare at the forefront, has failed to pursue the same cause now.

Singh said, “Arvind Kejriwal began his career in politics with the issue of ‘India Against Corruption’. At that time, Anna Hazare was at the forefront. They fought for Lokpal and the UPA government formed the Lokpal. But Arvind Kejriwal, who wanted to abolish corruption with the help of Lokpal, is not doing anything about it now.”

He also said that Congress’s alliance with AAP, Singh clarified that it was based on an ideological agreement at the national level, particularly against the BJP and RSS. He emphasized, “Our agreement with the AAP was ideological and against the BJP-RSS. That was at the national level. But at the regional level, every party has the right to contest elections individually.”

Singh further stated that parties should refrain from making moral judgments about each other, as everyone knows the positions and actions of others in the political landscape. “They should not talk about honesty and dishonesty because everyone knows where the other person stands,” Singh added.

Meanwhile on Thursday, Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda strongly criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his government during rallies in Uttam Nagar and Shakur Basti, accusing them of corruption and failing to deliver on their promises.

Addressing the crowd, Nadda declared, “The people of Delhi are awake now and on the 5th, they will distinguish between truth and falsehood.”

“He continued, attacking the AAP government for its failure to address key issues while claiming the city would be placed on the world map. “They claimed they would put Delhi on the world map, but today, Delhi has garbage mountains,” Nadda said. He pointed out the irony of AAP leaders previously visiting garbage piles during elections, but now, “today they are not even going near them.”
