Dausa: Five-year-old Aryan remains trapped in a borewell in Kalikhad village, Dausa district, Rajasthan, after falling in on December 9. Despite ongoing rescue efforts on December 11, concerns for his well-being are growing among family and officials.
Aryan has been stuck in the 175-foot-deep borewell without food or water since Monday afternoon. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), along with local authorities, have been working hard to save him. Officials are hopeful that he may be rescued by the evening.
His mother, Guddi Devi, is in shock, and the family has not eaten since the incident. The boy fell into the borewell while playing near his house. Rescue operations commenced immediately, overseen by District Collector Devendra Yadav.
Initial attempts to rescue Aryan by digging 20 feet from the borewell and using an L-shaped hook were unsuccessful. While some improvised methods didn’t work, rescuers were able to prevent him from slipping further down by using an umbrella beneath him.
As the first plan faltered, authorities implemented a backup strategy. A piling machine from Sawai Madhopur is now digging a 4-foot-wide pit about 4-5 feet from the borewell. Once the pit reaches 150 feet, NDRF personnel will create a horizontal tunnel to reach him. The digging is progressing at a rate of 20 feet per hour, and the entire process is expected to take around 7-8 hours. The rescue teams remain determined to safely bring Aryan home.
The whole village is anxiously waiting for a successful outcome.
