Ludhiana: The date for the by-election in Ludhiana is going to be announced soon. Earlier last night, the Congress high command expressed confidence in former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and declared him the party candidate from the West constituency. The letter related to this was issued by AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal on Friday night.
Of course the Congress high command has given the ticket to Ashu, but Ashu’s path is not so easy right now, because he has political differences with the state president and current MP from Ludhiana Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. To win, Ashu will have to take the support of Warring, which is a big challenge for him at this time.
Ashu has dominance in Ludhiana West.
Bharat Bhushan Ashu has dominance in the constituency West. Due to this the opponents need to work harder on this seat. On the other hand, Shiromani Akali Dal has also announced to contest the by-election. BJP’s election observer is also talking to the contenders regarding the selection of the candidate. Former Congress minister Ashu is considered to be a big challenge for the AAP candidate.
