Amritsar: A 6-member delegation formed by the BJP is arriving today in Amritsar, Punjab in connection with the demolition of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s statue on January 26. This delegation will prepare a detailed report on the spot and submit it to the BJP leadership.
The district administration has also announced to take special steps to protect Dr. Ambedkar’s statue. SDM Gursimran Singh Dhillon said that the statues of other great men located in the city will also be covered and special attention will be paid to their security.
Better lighting and CCTV cameras are being installed around the statues so that such incidents can be prevented in future. He said that no one will be allowed to tamper with the statues of great men and strict action will be taken against the culprits.

ACP Central Jaspal Singh said that a phone has been recovered from the accused Akashdeep, which has been sent for forensic investigation. Its report will reveal with whom the accused used to talk. At the same time, all the people associated with the accused are being called for questioning.
